Frequently asked questions

Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions.

How can I integrate Linkplay devices?
The multi-room function via Linkplay works with devices and speakers that are equipped with the Linkplay system. There are now various different systems on the market, which are unfortunately not always compatible with each other. On the website https://www.linkplay.com/products-powered-by-linkplay you will find a list of devices and speakers that support Linkplay. Existing devices / speakers in the household are connected, for example, via the app "Magnat Audio Stream", which can be found in the app store. However, you can use any app that supports Linkplay.
How can I send in a defective device?
It is unfortunate that you have a problem with the device. Therefore, we kindly ask you to send it to us packed in a transport-safe manner for inspection. Please include a detailed error description and a copy of the purchase receipt. Our address is Siegmann + Schröder GmbH, Peutestraße 22, 20539 Hamburg, Germany
How does the exchange of a power amplifier or an active module work?
If the active module of your device needs to be replaced, we will send you such an active unit in exchange. The replacement would have to be done by yourself, but this should not be a problem, as it is quite easy to do. This has the advantage that the device itself does not have to be shipped and thus damage in transit is prefented beforehand.
My remote control no longer works. What can I do?
If it is no longer possible to operate your device using the remote control, please first change the batteries in the remote control. If this does not help, please first check the remote control for functionality. This can be easily checked yourself by filming the transmitter unit on the remote control, e.g. with your cell phone camera, while pressing the buttons. If the Remote works, you can see the transmitting light on the remote control flickering in the video. If the remote is works fine, then the main unit (please always with the remote control) should be sent to us for inspection.
Can I change amplifier tubes myself?
We generally recommend having the tubes replaced by a specialist in order to achieve an optimum result. It is best to replace the tubes in pairs, and the operating point of the tubes would have to be readjusted. A burned out tube may also mean that other components of the amplifier have been affected, so simply replacing the tubes themselves may not yet restore the function of the amplifier. Due to the high operating voltage in the unit (up to 600V), this work should be performed by a trained technician for safety reasons. If you still prefer to replace the tubes yourself, please let us know the exact model designation of the tubes or send us a photo on which the position of the tube is marked to prevent misunderstandings. You can find the designations of the tubes on the tubes themselves.
Can I order crossovers from you?
Crossovers are not "spare parts" from our point of view and can only be repaired. For this you can contact your local technician or alternatively send the crossover to us for repair. A cost estimate costs EUR 62.00 incl. 19% VAT and will be charged when placing the order.
How can I fix the WLAN and Bluetooth connection problems?
Interference (wave overlap) may disturb the connection between connected devices. Please observe the values specified in the operating instructions: (e.g.: operating frequency: BT: 2402 - 2480 MHz, Wireless: 5740 - 5840 MHz). If necessary, switch WLAN router to another transmission frequency or reposition the connected devices.
The software of my device seems to stop working. What can I do?
To ensure that the devices always works in the way intendend, the developers of the individual manufacturers provide software / firmware updates on their website from time to time. If a problem should occur with your device, we ask you to first check the current software / firmware updates on the manufacturer's website and to install them if necessary.
How can I fix problems with the Internet radio?
Currently, many radio stations are transferring their streams from standard http connections to encrypted https connections. TuneIn for example wont deliver http streams in the future. Unfortunately, older devices, due to the installed hardware, are not able to play these streams. A solution to the problem through a firmware update is therefore generally not possible.
How can I troubleshoot audio or video input problems?
In case of problems with sound and/or image reproduction, please first check the cable connections to other devices in use. Are the connectors plugged in correctly or is there a cable break? Are other connected devices working correctly? Are the speaker cables correctly attached to the speaker terminal? For bi-wiring terminals, are the jumpers inserted correctly when the bi-wiring function is not used? If there are problems with HDMI transmission, please check if appropriate cables are used and replace them if necessary. For 4K/8K transmission or eARC, appropriately certified high-speed cables are required in any case.
